AAPM Highlights 2017, Poznań
The conference „AAPM Highlights 2017” (The American Assocation of Physics in Medicine Highlights 2017”) was held on 6-7 October, 2017 at the Oncology Center in Poznań, Poland. The meeting was in two parts: a reporting panel and a training panel.
A subject of the reports was the 59th Annual Meeting of the American Medical Physics Society (AAPM), which held on July 30.07 - 03.08.2017 in Denver, CO, USA.
One of the participants of the conference was Natalia Knake from the National Center for Nuclear Research in Otwock-Świerk, Poland.
The first day was dedicated to listening to the presentation of some conference participants about selected issues, which were raised during the AAPM meeting in Denver, i.a.: diagnostic imaging, treatment planning, dosimetry and proton therapy. The second day was dedicated to the testing of some modern radiotherapy systems, such as: treatment planning software and dosimetric software, used in modern oncology.
The conference was also an opportunity to get acquainted with the current status of research conducted on radiotherapy in Poland and in the world, on the new technological solutions in dosimetry systems and medical imaging using a ionizing radiation.
